The “friend zone” and unrequited love are not the same thing. Unrequited love is, “I love you, you don’t love me in that same way, I am sad about that.” The “friend zone” is, “I love you, you don’t love me in that same way, you have therefore wronged me.”

Unrequited love is, “My unilateral crush is my problem.” The “friend zone” is, “My unilateral crush is your problem.”

Again for the ones in the back

Louder.

Unrequited Love is sad. The friendzone is creepy.

Unrequited love is, “My unilateral crush is my problem.” The “friend zone” is, “My unilateral crush is your problem.”

Maybe it’s just harder when you’re in it yourself but having been a father of watching my own children and their friends and classmates grow up to become sociable adults the number of unrequited crushes is both sweet and heartbreaking.

And “friend zone” on the other hand really isn’t a thing. Not in the sense that people, women especially, categorize people into.

Like… if guys would get the friend zone meme out of their heads they might be able to see who’s got unrequited crushes on them!

And if the could see them, and they liked the person crushing on them but not “that way,” they get instant insight into what “friend zoning” someone really means
