Blog Rules – RANT

I rarely (if ever) do this, but I’m going on a bit of a rant here, so buckle up.

There are all different types of blogs on Tumblr and we’re all here for different reasons.

Rule Number One: There is a person (or persons) behind each & every legitimate blog with a real life and feelings.  If you wouldn’t say something to someone’s face, IN PERSON, keep your trap shut.

Rule Number Two: It’s perfectly acceptable to ask questions if you don’t understand something you’ve seen or read. HOWEVER, if your question has been answered, and you can’t be bothered to educate yourself further, keep your derogatory comments to yourself. Not every topic needs your two cents (particularly if you don’t know what you’re talking about). You can simply MOVE ON. The world will not end. I promise.

Rule Number Three: If you see something that offends you, or something you disagree with (and this is a really novel idea), STOP LOOKING AT IT. No one is forcing you; no derogatory comments are needed from you. You can simply MOVE ON with your life and go about your business.

You may think it’s your right to say whatever you like; it is also MY right to block you. I am of the belief that common courtesy, politeness, and being kind should be part of any conversation. I have a really hard time with rude behavior and ignorance borne from a pure laziness to educate oneself.

My blog is my own. You don’t have to like it, agree with it, or follow it.

You can just move on, without comment, and we both will be just fine. I promise.

I’d just add rule four: start your own blog. It’ll always have what interests you. You’ll also find out what it feels like when someone with no clue frivolously runs you down.
