I don’t have a problem with gender because it’s a social construct.

I have a problem with gender because it’s a social construct that exists to justify and maintain male power over females by constructing a masculine identity out of culturally valued principles, and a feminine one out of actions and behavior intended to support female weakness.

TBH I have a problem with gender because it’s a social construct.  I’ve got an older, even more dour view of why the social construction of gender is a problem than the original poster.

Social construction of anything is a problem!  Look at the expectations placed on doctors, teachers, scientists, children, gay men and lesbian women, people of faith and atheists, blah, blah, blah.  Each erases their actual humanity in ways that serve neither them nor those who base their expectations on those constructs.

As for the social construction of gender, it exists to justify and maintain the system of capital-p Patriarchy’s power over both men and women, reducing women to the status of sexually-disinterested commodities to be withheld or distributed to “sex-starved-animal” men based on their compliance with Patriarchal objectives.

Ugh!  Challenge gender and the horse it rode up on wherever you see it!
