There is no rule that says you have to be a masochist to be a submissive…and there is no rule that says you have to be sadistic to be a Dominant. I don’t know where this idea that you have to like pain to serve and like inflicting it to lead came from. It’s simply not true.
Having the desire to serve does not mean that you have to get off on pain. If you’re a Dom who doesn’t like hurting his girl, it doesn’t mean you are any less dominant. People really need to stop telling that lie. There are plenty of subs who don’t enjoy being cropped, whipped, etc and Doms who hate to do it. The essential part of D/s is that one person has the power and the other gives it up. The way the people play it out is up to them. There is no set way that it needs to go down.
