This is, as you may be suspecting, one of those areas where BDSM representation online is dramatically different from BDSM reality.
Yes, butches are absolutely welcome in BDSM spaces , and quite common too. I’m pretty sure I’ve never been to a kink event without at least one butch woman there, but there are usually several, depending of course on the size of the event.
Honestly I love seeing butches at events because for whatever reason I tend to get along with them really well. Not saying all butches are the same by any means, just that I feel like nearly every time I end up talking to one, we’re laughing our asses off together by the end of the night.
But yeah, I see lots of butch/butch couples and lots of butch/femme couples at kink events, and I live in the Deep South, so if y’all are welcome here, it’s a pretty good bet you’ll be welcome most places. Don’t be shy! While there are obviously exceptions, remember that kink, as a rule, tends to be much more open and accepting than society as a whole.
