swallowin’ woes
“So when I give head and swallow, I get a stomach ache after. Does this happen to anyone else? I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, or if semen actually hurts my stomach!”
“Is it normal to have an upset stomach after swallowing cum after giving a blowjob? Every time I give my boyfriend head, I end the night on the toilet (tmi!) and it’s not pretty. Is this normal and is there any way to stop this from happening? Thanks! ????”
It turns out this is kind of a thing for some people. There’s such a thing as ‘semen allergy’ (really) but if you don’t experience any symptoms from PIV sex, I guess it’s not that?
Some people here speculate it might be because semen is very slightly alkaline and your stomach is acidic and your body doesn’t like it.But I am told that is BAD SCIENCE. BAD. Someone suggests drinking something else acidic after, like a can of coke or orange juice. But it doesn’t sound like there’s a definite scientific explanation.I don’t think anyone ought to expect you to put up with a stomach ache or upset tummy just for the fun of swallowing, so personally, I’d be more inclined to just dodge out of the way at the critical moment!
Dire nerd response: Semen’s actually mostly water and fructose and other sugars. It’s also got a lot of minerals in it. Including zinc and potassium. It’s also got lactic acid in it. The taste, which isn’t a lot of people’s cup of tea, comes from the minerals. There are enough of those to overcome most of the sweetness. It does have protein but nothing at all like it’s often made out to be. (You’d have to drink half a cup to match the protein in one egg white for instance.)
Sensualist response: You know, despite the “spit vs. swallow” binary (plus the facial “trinary?) there are actually some very lovely ways to manage a man’s cum without swallowing it. One being drooling it back our over his cock to make those last few sensuous strokes even more silky slippery. (One of the best blowjobs I ever had ended that way and… well… I’m still talking about it aren’t I?!?!?)
