Wait? When did holding hands become old fashioned? A newborn new baby reflexively wraps their tiny hand around your finger. Nothing less old-fashioned than that, is there? Not for the baby, not for anyone else.
When someone’s dying in hospice their loved ones hold their hands. Often soft squeezes are the only way you know they’re still with us. Nothing old fashioned about that either.
And so if I hold your hand while we’re alive and grown and well and madly, madly taken with each other? Nothing old fashioned about new love either, is there.
Call me old fashioned but some things are always new. Every time.
