Reminder about age vs Age Play

I appreciate when people let me know about underage bloggers.  Because Tumblr’s become an asshole site I can’t point back to my big post about it, but the big takeaway was that it’s not that non-adult/adult interactions are right or wrong or good or bad or illegal or legal but that it’s developmentally unhealthy.

And therefore not workable.

Yes, people have all the right parts before they’re 18, and yes many who are younger are emotionally mature and other older people aren’t yet, and blah, blah, blah.  But, look, even if you’re kinky you have to learn to walk before you learn to crawl, and the best way to learn those things are with peers who are at the same development as you.  Illogical as it might seem, if you’re still figuring things out for yourself it’s surprising how easily someone who’s already had time can bowl you over.  For better or worse, most people who have their first not just sexual but relationship experiences with older, experienced people tend to have less happy, less healthy, and less fulfilling sex lives as adults.

And just to be a cranky old dad (not “Daddy”) about this, if age really is “just a number” then waiting a few years isn’t going to hurt anybody.

If you’re not 18 please interact with people your own age.  And if you’re over 18?  Please interact with one or more of the estimated 5.7 billion other adults in the world!

Adults are welcome to follow me.  But if I get word that someone’s not yet an adult I’ll at least unfollow them and, if necessary, I’ll block them… and since I never go back and unblock anyone there’s very little chance of you being able to follow me again even when you are an adult.  Just so you know.

At any rate, once again I appreciate when people let me know.
