Cool reminder that there are different kinds of capital-S Sadists and capital-M Masochists. S&M is not the same thing as D/S. Same with B (bondage) and D (discipline.) While most people in kink get this, I’m mentioning it because a lot of outsiders, wannabes, and legitimate newcomers aren’t sure.
BDSM being more of an alphabet than a single kink, there are more ways to interpret a barbed-wire chocker than there are individual letters in BDSM.
A hard-core sadist is going to look at this and say “ooh, pretty!” A masochist is likely to say “want one too!” A Dom or Sub might say “wow, what did they do to earn that?” A rope top might be thinking “sloppy alignment, the marks are going to be uneven.” A rope bottom might be thinking “eww, I’d be cut to ribbons before they could chock me out with that thing.”
Oh yeah, and a Daddy might be saying “now where in the great blue blazes did you find that, thumbtack? Get that off immediately before you put somebody’s eye out!!!” ????
