Tumblr’s still a butt!

So many great images I’d love to be able to repost and add remarks about.  But Tumblr’s just so brittle about blocking things, even just when I repost something someone else has gotten away with.

And yeah, I like to reblog things just because they’re naughty, and because I have wickedly salacious things to add.  But sometimes they’re just great illustrations for editorial or education (or, cough, daddy’splaining but let’s pretend I don’t do that.)  But the lame dudes (and it seems to be mostly dudes) on @staff and their filterbots don’t make distinctions do they?

Pretty fucked up of Tumblr that I can post topless selfies but you can’t…

Pretty fucked up of Tumblr that I can post topless selfies.

Funny how I was basically crippled with asthma till nearly age 30. 6’4” and about 140 pounds. Horizontal stretch marks on my hips from growing just short of 12 inches in just over 12 months. Sunken chested and so skinny my tummy was concave under my ribs!

Thank goodness for albuterol inhalers though! Started exercising in earnest in my late 30’s. Hit my peak fitness maybe 10 years ago.

I’m older now -old enough to be the father of far more than half the worlds population. (And boy is my dick tired… no, wait! 😂)

But it still feels good to have been getting back to the gym.

Cause Now I’m a D/Lg Daddy I ought to be able to put around half the worlds population over my shoulder and carry them to bed, patting and squeezing their cute little upturned asses as we go up the stairs… don’t you think, tatertot?

Offensive Content

yessiraustralia-again:

Guns aren’t offensive

Smoking isn’t offensive

Extreme political views aren’t offensive

Drug use isn’t offensive

Gang promotion isn’t offensive

Assholes showing off obscene wealth advocating crime isn’t offensive.

You want to know what’s offensive?

Nipples, that’s what!

According to Tumblr anyway.

Oh, and not all nipples of course.  Only “female-presenting” nipples.

Thing is I like your nipples!  They’re cute!  Sexy.  Eye catching.  They feel nice.  They make me genuinely happy.

Unlike guns, smoking, extremists, drug and alcohol abuse, gangs, and conspicuous consumption, which make most people feel unhappy.  (Even the gun, smoking, drugs, and wealth lovers, every one of whom is unhappy because they can never, ever get enough of that shit.)

Nipples though?   Because like Good Omens’ Sergeant Shadwell I really only need your two to be happy.  And all the rest of you too, pumpkin.

Let’s see if Tumblr blocks this photo of a fairly common Indonesian pitcher plant, a member (ahaha) of the genus Nepenthes.  (The wags at Snopes.com call it a “penis flytrap” though flytraps are unrelated members of the genus Dionaea.)

After the porn ban, Tumblr users have ditched the platform as promised

Tumblr has lost 30 percent of web traffic since December

By Shannon Liao@Shannon_Liao  Mar 14, 2019, 4:37pm EDT

Since Tumblr announced its porn ban in December, many users reacted by explaining that they mainly used the site for browsing not-safe-for-work content, and they threatened to leave the platform if the ban were enforced. It now appears that many users have made good on that threat: Tumblr’s traffic has dropped nearly 30 percent since December.

Tumblr’s global traffic in December clocked in at 521 million, but it had dropped to 370 million by February, web analytics firm SimilarWeb tells The Verge. Statista reports a similar trend in the number of unique visitors. By January 2019, only over 437 million visited Tumblr, compared to a high of 642 million visitors in July 2018.

The ban removed explicit posts from public view, including any media that portrayed sex acts, exposed genitals, and “female-presenting” nipples. Some users say enforcement of the ban has been spotty — one user wrote into The Verge to say that they’re still seeing porn on the platform — but even so, users have apparently left Tumblr in droves. We know that the platform was mainly known for its NSFW content, which was often not just porn that could be found on any number of alternative sites. It also included unique communities that discussed sexuality in healthy ways.

On December 3rd, when Tumblr first told The Verge that it would ban porn by the 17th, CEO Jeff D’Onofrio said in a statement at the time that users had other options. “There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content,” he said. It looks like users have taken D’Onofrio up on his offer and gone to other sites.

Big tip of the hat to decidedly non-porn sci-fi writer and futurist Bruce Sterling.

A 30% drop couldn’t happen to a less-nice company.

For the record this may actually come out as a “win” for Tumblr beancounters as It’s not clear to me how many folks who came for porn clicked through the typically bland, untargeted ads that have always tended to show up on the platform.  On the one hand, 30% fewer ad impressions, on the other hand possibly higher click-through rates.

Time will tell. ????‍♂️

On the plus side of Tumblr showing us it’s dick…

Since the Dec. 17th ban all “adult-content” blog avatars were replaced with an icon representing pixelation.  The one upside?

You no longer see dick-pic avatars! ????

Everything has a downside, especially anything Tumblr @staff does.  And of course the downside of not having to look at dick-pic avatars is you just see the kind of posts guys who use dick-pics would post.

Hey fun fact, if you write fuck in the tags your post wont show up in any tag, so uuuuuh heads up

Also fun fact, adding “porn” in your reblog tags (e.g. “history porn” or “fashion porn”) means that those posts won’t show up when you search your own blog.

Wank too. It’s why I changed all my fandom #wank posts to fandom #dramaz posts

….well this is a psa that needs to go around

I tagged one of my drawings as “well mark me down as both scared and horny” and it vanished from the other tags until I removed that so… “horny” too, apparently

One of my comics wasn’t showing up in tumblr tags until I removed all my tags with the crass language in it. (”shitposting” and “bitch” were the 2 I suspected) Then it conveniently started appearing publicly in the tags.

Oh my god this site really did become catholic

The following tags are (also) no longer searchable:

erotic
orgasm
bdsm

sexual*
vagina
breasts
foreskin
suicide
semen
ejaculation
foreplay
masturbation

*Note: this includes combined search terms such as “sexual health”, “sexual help”, “sexual orientation”, etc.

Tags that are still searchable:

white pride
white power
whites only
aryan
volkisch
n*gger
ch*nk
and probably every racial slur you can think of, I was too nauseated to look anymore

“And thou shalt know them by the company they keep.”

Tumblr @staff and their far-right masters at Verizon have their priorities, we have ours.

Tumblr seriously doesn’t get the difference between “porn” and “intensely erotic,” does it?  If they did they’d filter this and not bother with all the joylessly bored, stunt-fucking “porn star” antics.
